I read this story somewhere:
One day a couple of good friends were sitting together, when one said “Hey, if you had 2 houses, would you give me one?”. The other said “You’re my best friend! OF COURSE I would give you a house!”.
The first guy thought a bit and said “If you had 2 cows, would you give me one?”
“You’re my best friend! OF COURSE I would give you a cow!”
“What if you had 2 chickens? Would you give me a chicken?”
The friend immediately said “NO!”
“What? Why not?”
“Well, because I HAVE 2 chickens”
It sounds funny, but it got me thinking. I know a lot of us dream about one day when we meet some level of abundance, and once we’re there, we’ll use our resources to help those less fortunate. We use what we don’t have as an excuse, and forget about what we do have.
